The bridge over the Ural River in the Makhambet District of the Atyrau Region is located on the R-217 "Caspian" highway (formerly M-32), which connects Aktobe, Atyrau, Astrakhan, and other key cities in western Kazakhstan
The bridge was commissioned in November 2018, becoming a key element of the region's transportation infrastructure
This bridge is an essential part of an international transport corridor, linking the settlements of the Makhambet District with other areas of the Atyrau Region on both sides of the Ural River
Additionally, it plays a crucial role in connecting the European and Asian parts of Kazakhstan, as the Ural River has historically been considered a natural boundary between continents
FEATURES OF THE CANTILEVER CONCRETING METHOD
- Development of the bridge construction concept and selection of specialized temporary structures
- Preparation of the Work Execution Plan (WEP) for construction and installation works, considering the availability of cranes within the company
- Design of all temporary structures
- Design, manufacturing, installation, testing, and training of operational personnel for the use of special sliding hydraulic formwork for balanced cantilever concrete casting of the bridge superstructure
- Development of structural design documents (KM — metal structure design) and detailed design documents (KMD — metal structure detailing)
- Preparation of the WEP for the installation and dismantling sliding hydraulic formwork
- Development of the WEP for the concrete casting of the closure segment of the bridge superstructure.

The river was not blocked during the construction period – the Ural River is an important transport corridor for ships of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Significant cost reduction achieved through the in-house design and production of the sliding hydraulic formwork
Thanks to the special configuration of the sliding hydraulic formwork, there was no need to purchase additional formwork for the closure segment.
