The lifting process of the self-climbing hydraulic formwork for concreting the next 4-meter-high variable-section pier segment

FEATURES OF SELF-CLIMBING FORMWORK FOR VARIABLE-SECTION BRIDGE PIERS

Adaptability to Changing Geometry:

The self-climbing formwork precisely follows the variable cross-section of the pier, ensuring high geometric accuracy and minimizing deviations from design specifications

High Safety Standards:

The lifting mechanisms are equipped with locking systems that prevent uncontrolled movements and accidental falls

Cost Reduction for Temporary Structures and Equipment:

Eliminating the need for extensive scaffolding and temporary supports significantly reduces material costs

Accelerated Construction Process:

Unlike traditional formwork systems, self-climbing formwork does not require dismantling and reassembly, reducing the overall construction cycle time

Automated Movement

Company Achievements in Using Self-Climbing Formwork for Bridge Pier Construction (First-Time Application of This Technology by the Company):

FEATURES OF THE CANTILEVER CONCRETING METHOD

My role in this project included the design, manufacturing, installation, and training of personnel for the operation of a special self-climbing formwork for a structure with a variable cross-section.

The initial dimensions of the structure at the base are 14 × 8 m, with an internal opening measuring 6.3 × 3 m. As the structure is erected, its external dimensions gradually decrease from 14 × 8 m to 8 × 4 m, while the dimensions of the internal opening remain constant throughout the entire height.

The manufacturing process of rails and special lifting mechanisms for hydraulic formwork

Pre-assembly of external shields at the factory. The shields are sliding, adjustable from 8 to 4 m and fixed by special mechanisms through safety nuts. Simple and reliable design ensures quick fixation of the design position

Pre-assembly of large outer formwork panels. The panels are assembled from separate sections, which are dismantled as the support structure narrows. Removing the outer sections reduces lateral wind load
